40km Dispersion Compensation Fiber Pluggable Module

 

Dispersion occurs when an optical signal travels long distances in an optical fiber, resulting in signal distortion. Dispersion Compensation Fiber (DCF) is a special fiber with a negative chromatic dispersion, which is just the opposite of G.652 fiber, and can counteract the effects of chromatic dispersion in G.652. This passive module provides a high level of compensation while maintaining low PMD dispersion as well as low insertion loss and low noise. Passive DCF is a simple, reliable and cost-effective way of compensating for dispersion, allowing signals to travel over 120km without regeneration.

  • I didn't see my required DCM distance, can I customize it?
    Yes, you can consult your account manager to confirm your desired distance and connectors. Distract from LC/SC/FC connector, UPC/APC polish, 10-140km distance, and pulg-in module or 1U rack mount housing customize available.
  • What is a DCM and when should I use it?
    DCM stands for Dispersion Compensation Module. It's a device designed to rectify optical signals that have been distorted by dispersion during their transmission. By compensating for signal degradation within optical transmission systems, thereby improving the performance of the optical transmission system (i.e. extending the transmission distance). When you need to increase the transmission distance in your optical transmission link, EDFA paired with DCM would be a good choice.
  • Is this dispersion compensation module a passive product, I don't need to set up a power supply, right?
    Yes, the DCM product is 100% passive, and you don't need to set up power supply.
