The main function of the EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) optical amplifier board is to perform power compensation for the signal light in the transmission link, and can simultaneously amplify up to 48 channels in the C-band (channel spacing is 100GHz) or 96 channels (channel spacing is 50GHz) It has the characteristics of flat gain, adjustable gain, and low noise figure. This EDFA can be highly integrated in the chassis of the QT860 series.

    No, this EDFA Amplifier Module is used together with the chassis and is powered by the chassis, such as QT850, QT860, QT900 chassis.
  • I'm confused whether I need this EDFA Amplifier Module, can you tell me what are the scenarios where I need to use it?
    It is applicable for scenarios with extensive actual distances between optical cables, significant attenuation in the optical cable, and a requirement for optical signal amplification. You can adapt EDFA according to the performance of the module currently used in your actual optical link environment. For example, if the optical link length is 50KM but the maximum transmission distance of the optical module is only 40KM, then you need to use an EDFA amplifier module because it helps reduce Optical signal attenuation.
