Generic Compatible DR8 QSFP-DD 800G PAM4 Optical Transceiver Module (1310nm, 500m, MPO-16/APC, SMF, 0℃ to +70℃, DDM)

 

Generic Compatible DR8 QSFP-DD 800G transceiver module supports a max data rate of 850Gbps. It enables the fiber link of 500m over single-mode fiber (SMF) with MPO-16 connectors. The 800 Gigabit Ethernet signal is carried over 1310nm wavelengths. QSFPTEK manufactured  800G QSFPDD-DR8 complies with IEEE 802.3cu-2021, IEEE P802.3ck D3.0, QSFP-DD MSA HW Rev 6.01, CMIS Rev 5.0. DDM (digital diagnostics monitoring) function is supported on the 800G fiber optic transceiver to achieve real-time operating parameters monitoring. Adopting the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) modulation, the DR8 QSFP-DD achieves 800 Gigabit Ethernet through 8x 106.25 PAM4 Retimed 2x400GAUI-4 C2M electrical interface. The 800G DR8 QSFP-DD is widely used for 800 gigabit Ethernet, data centers, 800G to 2x 400G DR4, or 8x 100G DR applications.

8x 100Gbps PAM4 Modulation Technology

   

Utilize 8x electrial lanes and 8x optical lanes modulated at 100G PAM-4 per lane. On the output side, it convert 8x 106.25Gb/s electrical signal to 8x 106.25Gb/s optical signals. On the receiver side, it convert 8x 100Gb/s optical signal to 8x 100Gb/s electrical signals.

  • I want to connect this QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 module to my 400G switches, which 400G optics and fiber patch cable should I use?
    Hello, to connect the QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 module to 400G switches, you can use QSFP-DD-400G-FR4 for 400G switches. Since QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 has two duplex CS connectors while QSFP-DD-400G-FR4 has a single duplex LC connector, you should link QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 to two QSFP-DD-400G-FR4 via two CS to LC Duplex OS2 single mode fiber. Please kindly check the application section of the product details page.
  • The 800G 2FR4 optical module has two separate connectors, can I use only one port of the module?
    Yes, if only one of the ports is used, the rate is 400G.
  • Can I plug 400G OSFP modules into 800G OSFP ports?
    Yes, 800G OSFP ports are backward compatible with 400G OSFP as long as the physical form factor is compatible.
