Generic Compatible 800GBASE-LR8 (2x 400GBASE-LR4) OSFP 800G transceiver module supports a max data rate of 850Gbps. It enables the fiber link of 10km over single-mode fiber (SMF) with dual LC duplex connectors. The 800 Gigabit Ethernet signal is carried over 4 wavelengths at 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, and 1331nm. QSFPTEK manufactured 2x 400GBASE LR4 OSFP complies with IEEE 802.3-2022 and 100G Lambda MSA (2x400GBASE-LR4-6 optical interface, 2x400G-LR4-10 optical interface), IEEE 802.3df-2024 (2x400GAUI-4 C2M electrical interface), OSFP MSA HW Rev 5.1, CMIS Rev 5.2. DDM (digital diagnostics monitoring) function is supported on the 800G fiber optic transceiver to achieve real-time operating parameters monitoring. Adopting the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) modulation, the LR8 OSFP achieves 800 Gigabit Ethernet through 8x 106.25 PAM4. The 800G 2xLR4 OSFP is widely used for 800 gigabit Ethernet and InfiniBand, data centers, and 800G to 2x 400G applications.

This 800GBASE-LR8 OSFP module utilizes Broadcom's top-tier PAM-4 DSP chip combines ultra-low bit error rate with the industry's lowest power consumption. It uses advanced equalization technology to compensate for optical impairments and integrates FEC functions to ensure link reliability, providing core support for high-speed data centers and AI clusters.
The 800G OSFP 2LR4 module is designed with dual duplex LC/UPC connectors, while each connector can connect to a physically separate 400G LR4 QSFP-DD/OSFP module via an LC UPC Duplex OS2 SMF. This enables 800G to 2x 400G breakout links without the need for using breakout fiber optic cables.

Finned-top modules feature a heat sink on the top of transceiver or its laser. With superior thermal management, they are ideal for switches requiring efficient heat dissipation in long-term stable operation, such as Quantum-2 InfiniBand switch and the Spectrum-4 Ethernet switch.
Flat-top optics are used for adapters and Data Processing Units (DPUs), including the ConnectX-7 InfiniBand adapter and BlueField-3 DPU. Flat-top design can maximum optical coupling and transmission efficiency.

Utilize 8x electrial lanes and 8x optical lanes modulated at 100G PAM-4 per lane. On the output side, it convert 8x 106.25Gb/s electrical signal to 8x 106.25Gb/s optical signals. On the receiver side, it convert 8x 100Gb/s optical signal to 8x 100Gb/s electrical signals.
