    The Arista OSFP-400G-FR4 compatible 400GBASE-FR4 OSFP is a finned top transceiver module for use in 400 Gigabit Ethernet links up to 2km over OS2 singlemode fiber (SMF). The OSFP-IHS designed with Integrated Heat Sink (IHS) is for Ethernet air-cooled switches. It supports a max data rate of 425 Gbps with a single 4-channel duplex LC/UPC optical connector. Adopting the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) electrical and optical modulation, the Fixed Reach 4-channel (FR4) OSFP achieves 400 Gigabit Ethernet through 4-channels of 100G-PAM4. QSFPTEK manufactured FR4 OSFP complies with 400G Ethernet, OSFP MSA, CMIS 4.0, RoHS, IEEE 802.3cu, IEEE 802.3bs. The DDM (digital diagnostics monitoring) function is supported on the 400G fiber optic transceiver to achieve real-time operating parameters monitoring.

    • Can I plug an OSFP optical module to a QSFP-DD port?
      No. QSFP-DD and OSFP are two different form factors and they have completely different shapes and sizes. You can only use one kind of form factor in the corresponding system, for example, if you use OSFP system, then you must use OSFP transceiver and cable.
    • Can I plug a QSFP28 optical module to a OSFP port?
      Yes, but you need to use an adapter. When inserting a QSFP28 module into an OSFP port, the OSFP port must be configured for 100G instead of 400G transmission rate
    • What 400G form-factors does QSFPTEK support?
