What impressed me most wasn't performance, but the smoothness of the deployment day. Plug it in, get it recognized, and the link up—the process was almost uninterrupted. We were short-staffed at the time, and our biggest fear was on-site problems causing delays, but these 2VR4s added virtually no extra workload. That feeling of "going according to plan" is quite rare in a project of this scale.

This batch of 2VR4s was used in a row of high-density GPU nodes. During continuous full-load training, there were no instances of "occasional connection drops and recovery." The module's status lights and monitoring readings were also consistent, allowing us to quickly assess its health.

Choosing the 2VR4 wasn't actually the most technically complex decision, but rather a result of considering overall cost and delivery time. The OEM's lead time was too long, and the project schedule couldn't afford to wait. This batch from QSFPTEK arrived in 4 days, which greatly helped the project's progress. After deployment, there were no rework issues, and no additional labor costs due to compatibility problems. From an overall TCO perspective, it was a reasonable choice.

Plugged this 800G Twin-port OSFP into our Arista switch and it was recognized instantly—no vendor lock warnings. Split it into 2x400G SR4 via MPO-12/APC to an InfiniBand environment. After a 24-hour traffic stress test, Pre-FEC BER remains stable with zero CRC errors or packet drops. The Closed Finned Top handles heat dissipation efficiently, stabilizing around 52°C under full PAM4 load. DDM optical power readings are perfectly accurate compared to our meters. Exceptional link budget and hardware quality for a fraction of the OEM cost. Highly recommended for high-density setups.

Communication throughout the order process was excellent. We received updates quickly and got answers whenever we needed them.

We use this 2VR4 module for short-range interconnects within a server rack. These modules offer good stability and quick link setup. The module itself is solidly built, and the plug-and-play experience is better than some cheaper options; it doesn't feel loose or flimsy. It does generate heat, but under normal airflow, there have been no alarms or performance throttling.

Outstanding 800G OSFP transceiver. The Closed Finned Top structure works perfectly with our chassis airflow, keeping temps steady at around 53°C under heavy PAM4 traffic. Connected to our MMF patch cords via dual MPO-12/APC, the optical alignment is precise with zero alignment errors. DDM diagnostic data is fully accessible on the Arista CLI, showing great Tx/Rx power margins.

Support was responsive when we had a quick deployment question. Shipping was also faster than expected.

Used with the 7800R3 series switches, this product is affordably priced yet offers superior quality and stable transmission.
