Arista OSFP-800G-2FR4 compatible 800G DR8 OSFP is an Ethernet transceiver module with dual duplex LC/UPC connectors. It enables the fiber link of 2km at 800Gb/s or 2x400Gb/s over single-mode fiber (SMF). With the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) modulation, the dual Far Reach 8-channel (2xFR4) OSFP adopts 8 channels of 100G-PAM4 electrical and optical modulation based on the CWDM4 serial multiplexed 1310nm.
The OSFP is open finned top with an integrated heat sink (IHS), designed for Ethernet air-cooled switches. It is compliant with IEEE 802.3 400GBASE-FR4 Ethernet specs and OSFP MSA. It is used for switch & router connection, data centers, and Other 800G interconnect requirements. Featuring high performance, low power consumption, and low latency, it is ideal for HPC, AI, and cloud DC.

Utilize 8x electrial lanes and 8x optical lanes modulated at 100G PAM-4 per lane. On the output side, it convert 8x 106.25Gb/s electrical signal to 8x 106.25Gb/s optical signals. On the receiver side, it convert 8x 100Gb/s optical signal to 8x 100Gb/s electrical signals.
The OSFP-800G-FR4 module is designed with dual duplex LC connectors, while each connector can connect to a physically separate 400G FR4 module via an OS2 duplex single-mode fiber. This enables 800G to 2x 400G breakout links without the need for using breakout fiber optic cables.
