These advanced capabilities enable enterprise-level users to upgrade their campus network to the next generation, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience and promoting business growth. If you're seeking assistance to leverage these benefits, we can help you promote your business further.

Hardware

The S7300 series switches come in a compact 1U form factor and function as layer 3 switches, making them a great fit for high-density racks. The series offers a variety of switches with different port designs, such as the S7300-24X2C 24 ports switch, which has 24x 10Gb RJ45 ports and 2x100Gb QSFP28 uplink ports. With a wide range of port options, these switches are versatile and can be used for various networking needs.

The S7300 series switches come with 1+1 hot-swappable power supplies that support both AC and DC, providing uninterrupted operation and enhancing system availability. These switches are typically fitted with 4 smart fans, as fans of the S7300-48X2Q4C 48 port switch feature a hot swap function. The redundancy in fan capacity facilitates improved heat dissipation, ensuring stability and reliability for the network system.

Software

The S7300 series switches offer comprehensive L3 switch capabilities, incorporating advanced IPv6 technology and various integrated services like VPN, network security, flow analysis, and virtualization. In the succeeding sections, we will discuss the software functions of the three S7300 switches.

Security

The security of the equipment is achieved through the implementation of advanced software infrastructure design. This design includes a level-based packet schedule and packet protection system that effectively prevents various attacks such as DoS/TCP-related SYN Flood, UDP Flood, Broadcast Storm, and large traffic attacks. Additionally, the system provides level-based command line protection, which enables different levels of users to have varying management permissions. This ensures that each user has access only to the necessary functions and protects against unauthorized access or misuse.

The IEEE 802.1x, Radius, and BDTacacs+ are authentication mechanisms that offer impeccable security. The S7300 series has storm/multicast/unicast limits to guarantee normal equipment operations under tough network conditions. Additionally, the S7300 series has perfect ring detection mechanisms that ensure stable network performance over the long term. Port isolation within the same VLAN, DHCP-Snooping, and IP + MAC + Port binding is also supported by the S7300 series.

IPv6

The S7300 Series offers comprehensive support for the IPv6 protocol suite, including features such as IPv6 neighbor discovery, ICMPv6, path MTU discovery, and DHCPv6. Additionally, the series supports various network utilities like Ping, Traceroute, Telnet, SSH, and ACLs based on IPv6.

Furthermore, the S7300 Series also supports MLD, MLD Snooping, IPv6 static routing, RIPng, OSPFv3, and BGP4+ protocols. It also includes support for different types of IPv6 tunnels such as manual, automatic, GRE, 6to4, and ISATAP tunnels.

Lastly, the S7300 Series facilitates IPv4 transitioning to IPv6 through various tunneling mechanisms like IPv6 manual tunnel, automatic tunnel, 6 to 4 tunnel, and ISATAP tunnel.

Reliability

The S7300 Series networking equipment supports various redundancy protection mechanisms, including STP, RSTP, MSTP, VRRP, ring network protection, dual uplink active/standby link protection, and LACP link aggregation, to prevent network downtime due to equipment failures or link failures. The ISSU feature enables software upgrades without disrupting network operations, while Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) detects faults in network links and triggers rapid service recovery.

Stackable

Switch stacking connects multiple switches into a single logical switch, providing better network management, scalability, performance, and resiliency. The master switch manages the configuration and forwarding tables of all the member switches, making network management easier. S7300-24X2C and S7300-48X2Q4C support a stack of up to eight S7300 series switches. S7300-48TE4X2Q does not support stacking now.

Application for S7300 Series

The S7300 series switches are a fitting choice for a 3-tier Structure of the Network, namely the Access Layer, Aggregation Layer, and Core Layer.

Access Layer

The S7300-48TE4X2Q enterprise switches provide 48 ports capable of supporting 100M, 1000M, and 2.5GBASE-T connections. This abundance of ports enables a single switch to cater to more than 48 access points and accommodate numerous users, facilitating versatile port utilization. Additionally, S7300-48TE4X2Q switches come equipped with several security features such as authentication, MAC security, and IP security, ensuring that user access is regulated and system-wide security is maintained to prevent unauthorized access.

Aggregation Layer

The S7300 series enterprise switches are versatile enough to be deployed at the aggregation layer due to their ability to accommodate higher access bandwidth and scale. To illustrate, the S7300-48X2Q4C 10Gb switch supports access-uplink speeds of 40G/100G. If access uplink speeds of 10G or lower is preferred, alternative switches are available, like the S7300-48TE4X2Q gigabit switch which has four 1G/10G SFP+ ports.

Core Layer

If you require a core network with greater bandwidth capacity, you may want to consider using the S7300-24X2C 24 port switch or S7300-48X2Q4C 48 port switch. This switch is capable of offering robust Layer 3 routing solutions, which can support high-bandwidth applications such as IPTV, video monitoring, and other Triple-Play services. Additionally, the switch comes equipped with built-in QoS and flexible queuing technology that allow it to provide top-notch service quality.

Conclusion

The S7300 series layer 3 enterprise switch has an impressive capacity and offers a range of integrated services, including IPv6, VPN, network security, flow analysis, and virtualization. The switch also incorporates highly reliable techniques such as continuous forwarding, graceful restarting, and loop network protection, all of which ensure that the enterprise switch operates efficiently within its fabric, thereby guaranteeing maximum uptime. Its L2/L3/L4 wire-speed switching capability further enhances its performance.
