QSFPTEK 400G Point-to-Point DWDM Solution
Background:
Industry: Data Center
Country: Germany
Custom Voice:
We expect to establish a stable and robust data interconnection framework spanning four data centers. This network will rely on DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology to enable point-to-point dual-fiber bidirectional symmetric transmission across critical network nodes. We aim to ensure seamless and efficient data transfer between these key points within the network. We hope QSFPTEK can provide a solution that perfectly meets our needs while meeting specific budget requirements.
Challenges
1. Optical Signal Integrity: Ensuring signal quality over long spans (up to 70km) while minimizing cable loss.
2. Maximizing System Capacity: Efficiently supports high-speed (up to 400G/channel) and multiple channels (up to 10x400G).
3. Future-Proofing: The DWDM system should be designed with future expansion and upgrades in mind, considering factors like increased bandwidth requirements and changing network architectures. And it needs to integrate with existing infrastructure seamlessly.
4. Network Resilience: Implementing redundancy to minimize downtime and disruptions.
5. Cost Optimization: Balancing advanced capabilities with cost-effective solutions.
Solution
To meet the needs of customers, QSFPTEK engineers developed the following plan. This plan uses the QT900 series Chassis Platform to meet the customer's multiple needs for transmission distance, capacity requirements, cost savings, etc.
The network architecture comprises several key routes:
Point A to Point B
Point A to Point C
Point A to Point D
Point C to Point D
Each route utilizes DWDM technology, enabling efficient and high-capacity data transmission over dual-fiber connections.
Point A to Point B and Point A to Point C each operate at 1x400G capacity.
Point A to Point D leverages 2x400G capacity, accommodating increased data loads.
Point C to Point D also operates at 2x400G capacity.
For Challenge 1: Optical Cable Specifications Introduction
The solution accommodates 2-core optical cables for each separate span. With an anticipated optical cable loss of approximately 21dB within a 70km span, the maximum permissible line loss is capped at 30dB. This ensures optimal signal integrity and reliability across the network.
For Challenge 2: Device and System Capacity Introduction
The QT900 series platform serves as the cornerstone of this solution, offering robust capabilities for high-speed data transmission. The system supports various configurations:
Point A to Point B and Point A to Point C each operate at 1x400G capacity.
Point A to Point D leverages 2x400G capacity, accommodating increased data loads.
Point C to Point D also operates at 2x400G capacity.
The DWDM system is configured with 40-wave channels, providing a maximum transmission capacity of 40x400G. This scalable setup allows for future expansion and adaptability to evolving data demands.
For Challenge 3: Business Carrying and Expansion
The DWDM system is configured to meet current business requirements by opening multiple 400G transmission channels. These channels efficiently carry existing services while also reserving capacity for future growth. Expansion is facilitated through the addition of service boards, ensuring seamless scalability and adaptability as data needs evolve.
For Challenge 4&5: QT900 Series Chassis Platform Introduction
QT900 Series Chassis Platform provides multiple multi-layer network-level and device-level protection solutions. Protection reversal delay<50ms, ensuring superior protection performance. It supports optical line protection (OLP), optical multiplexed segment protection (OMSP), and optical channel protection (OCHP). Customers have complete confidence in link protection. QSFPTEK can provide customers with a full set of equipment, offer cost-effective solutions to products, and list every required product.
