    Basic Principles of CWDM Multiplexing and Demultiplexing

         

    The CWDM Mux Demux essentially combines multiplexing (Mux) and demultiplexing (Demux) functions. At the transmitting end, the Mux combines optical signals of different wavelengths into the same fiber for transmission; at the receiving end, the Demux separates these mixed multi-wavelength signals and restores them to their individual channels. The overall process is one of "merging" at one end and "demultiplexing" at the other, corresponding to each other.

      We needed an 8CH Dual Fiber CWDM equipment. QSFPTEK provided us with several different models of the MUX list, and we finally chose the model with 1310nm, EXP, and MON ports. Although the price is dozens of dollars more, it works for us.
