    NVIDIA/Mellanox MMS4X00-NM16 (980-9I30J-F4NM00) compatible 800G DR8 OSFP is an Ethernet transceiver module with an MPO-16 APC connector. It enables the fiber link of 500m at 800Gb/s over single-mode fiber (SMF). With the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) modulation, the datacenter reach 8-channel (DR8) OSFP adopts 8-channels of 100G-PAM4 electrical and optical Parallel modulation.

     

    With a closed top design, the OSFP-IHS is offered for Spectrum-4 air-cooled switches. Its main application is to link two switches together up to 500 meters. QSFPTEK NVIDIA Ethernet compatible optics are 100% tested in NVIDIA Ethernet host devices, ideal for NVIDIA end-to-end Ethernet systems.

    • I want to connect this QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 module to my 400G switches, which 400G optics and fiber patch cable should I use?
      Hello, to connect the QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 module to 400G switches, you can use QSFP-DD-400G-FR4 for 400G switches. Since QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 has two duplex CS connectors while QSFP-DD-400G-FR4 has a single duplex LC connector, you should link QSFP-DD 800G 2FR4 to two QSFP-DD-400G-FR4 via two CS to LC Duplex OS2 single mode fiber. Please kindly check the application section of the product details page.
    • The 800G 2FR4 optical module has two separate connectors, can I use only one port of the module?
      Yes, if only one of the ports is used, the rate is 400G.
    • Can I plug 400G OSFP modules into 800G OSFP ports?
      Yes, 800G OSFP ports are backward compatible with 400G OSFP as long as the physical form factor is compatible.
