NVIDIA/Mellanox Compatible 800G OSFP 2XDR4 transceiver module supports a max data rate of 850Gbps. It enables the fiber link of 2km over single-mode fiber (SMF) with dual MTP/MPO-12 connectors. The 800 Gigabit Ethernet signal is carried over 1310nm. QSFPTEK manufactured 2x 400GBASE DR4 OSFP complies with IEEE 802.3cu-2021, IEEE 802.3ck-2022, OSFP MSA Specification Rev 5.0, CMIS Rev 5.0. DDM (digital diagnostics monitoring) function is supported on the 800G fiber optic transceiver to achieve real-time operating parameters monitoring. Adopting the Pulse-amplitude Modulation (PAM4) modulation, the 2x XDR4 OSFP achieves 800 Gigabit Ethernet through 8x 106.25 PAM4 Retimed 8x100GAUI-1 C2M electrical interface. The 800G 2x XDR4 OSFP is widely used for 800 gigabit Ethernet, data centers, and 800G to 2x 400G applications.

This 800GBASE-2XDR4 OSFP module utilizes Broadcom's high-performance DSP chipset and Broadcom's VCSEL lasers to natively optimize signal integrity, significantly reduce power consumption and latency, and meet the high stability requirements of demanding environments. It provides an extremely energy-efficient and reliable 800G/400G interconnect solution for AI clusters and data centers.
Utilize 8x electrial lanes and 8x optical lanes modulated at 100G PAM-4 per lane. On the output side, it convert 8x 106.25Gb/s electrical signal to 8x 106.25Gb/s optical signals. On the receiver side, it convert 8x 100Gb/s optical signal to 8x 100Gb/s electrical signals.
The 800G OSFP 2XDR4 module is designed with dual MPO-12/APC connectors, while each connector can connect to a physically separate 400G DR4 OSFP/QSFP-DD/QSFP112 module via an MTP/MPO-12 APC OM4 fiber. This enables 800G to 2x 400G breakout links without the need for using breakout fiber optic cables.

This batch of 2XDR4s was mainly used for internal stress testing and cross-node verification. During continuous high-traffic throughput tests, the link did not exhibit any jitter or abnormal retraining. We also deliberately performed plug-and-play and re-launch tests, and the performance was consistent.

Used these for connecting separate GPU clusters across rooms. We pushed pretty heavy traffic through them during testing and didn’t notice retransmissions or weird latency spikes. One thing I’ll give QSFPTEK credit for is consistency — we ordered multiple units and all of them behaved almost identically.
