The table below shows all S5600 Series switches QSFPTEK provides.
2、Software and Protocol
Q1: What is MLAG? What are the advantages of MLAG?And do the S5600 series switches support it?
A: MLAG(Multichassis Link Aggregation Group) technology enables inter-device link aggregation, which permits access switches within the same state to negotiate link aggregation with a user-side device or server. This enhances link reliability from the card level to the device level. Additionally, M-LAG devices can be upgraded individually to ensure service traffic stability. Consequently, MLAG is extensively utilized in data center networks. It mainly applies to scenarios where a server or switch is dual-homed to a Layer 2, VXLAN, or Layer 3 network, or to a multi-level M-LAG scenario.
MLAG utilizes LAG hashing to evenly distribute traffic across multiple switches, allowing each switch to independently forward/route traffic without the need for a master switch. This approach enables MLAG to bundle additional links into LAGs, providing increased bandwidth for North & South as well as East & West traffic.
Unlike stacking, MLAG provides increased stability due to its dual management and control planes. MLAG is especially well-suited for geographically separated switches, as it minimizes error increases that can occur when stacking remotely separated switches.
Additionally, MLAG enables one switch to be upgraded at a time without affecting service, and can expand port capacity beyond the limitations of stacking by creating additional MLAGs to other switches located to the East or West.
If you have requirements for MLAG, you can choose QSFPTEK S5600 Series Switches.
Q2: Do S5600 series switches support stacking?
A: Sorry, S5600 series switches do not support stacking, if you need a stacking-enabled switch, you can choose QSFPTEK S5300 series stack switches, which support up to 8 switches stacking together.
Q3: Can the MLAG function be used for stacking? Is MLAG an Alternative to Stackable Switches?
A: Yes. MLAG is capable of expanding port capacity beyond the limits of switch stacking--simply adding another switch East or West by creating another MLAG to another switch. By utilizing MLAG, each switch has the ability to forward traffic independently without relying on a master switch. However, it is important to note that the number of switches that can be stacked is restricted, and any additional switch must be of the same vendor, model, software version, and license pack as the other members of the stack.
Q4: Can the QSFPTEK S5600 series switches support advanced features such as VXLAN/EVPN?
A: Yes,they can. EVPN serves as an overlay control plane that establishes virtual connectivity between layer 2/3 domains over an IP or MPLS network. On the other hand, VXLAN is a prevalent network virtualization overlay protocol that expands the layer 2 network address space from 4,000 to 16 million.
Q5: Do S5600 series switches support LACP?
A: Of course, all of QSFPTEK S5600 series switches support LACP,In addition to the 5600 series, other series of QSFPTEK switches also support LACP,such as the 5300 Series, 7300 Series, 7600 Series.
Q6: Do QSFPTEK S5600 Series Switches support Quality of Service (QoS)?
A:Yes, these S5600 Series Switches support QoS for high security.
Q7: Are QSFPTEK S5600 series switches IPv6 capable?
A: Yes, S5600 series switches are capable of operating on both IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack, facilitating IPv6 RIPng, and implementing IPv6 over IPv4 TUNNEL. It is suitable for deployment on either a pure IPv4/IPv6 network or a shared IPv4/IPv6 network.
Q8: What management capabilities are available for the QSFPTEK S5600 series switches?
A: They Support CLI/WEB/SNMP/SSH2.0/SSL for easy management.
