Customer Voice: With the construction of multi-campus, there is a need for a multi-service type of service-oriented network between different campuses, including a series of services, such as network access service, information storage service, bandwidth management, and other issues. We urgently need to expand our network and establish a large bandwidth, long-distance network infrastructure to provide quality network services to students and teachers.

Solution

QSFPTEK has designed the following network solution for the customer, which meets all the customer's requirements.

In this multi-site DWDM network solution, the QT860 series OTN chassis is deployed to meet the customer's demand for network capacity expansion. The product uses advanced transmission technology and high integration technology to support single-channel transmission rates from 100Mbps to 100Gbps, and provides wide bandwidth, large capacity, and fully transparent transmission for 200Gbps and 400Gbps expansion, enabling smooth upgrade of capacity. At Mux, 40CH DWDM Mux Demux is used to expand the existing network capacity, while using Mux is easy for future network expansion.

With the QT860-CH2U07 OTN chassis, customers can access various rates of optical-layer and electrical-layer boards on the client side to meet the needs of customers for multi-service type access.

From the information provided by the customer, the physical distance between the two sites is under 80km, so the dispersion of the optical signal needs to be taken into account. In this network scheme, it mainly relies on EDFA and DCM to balance the optical link power to ensure stable signal transmission.

Finally, the customer proposed the use of 40km optical modules to meet the requirement for cost-effectiveness.

Customer Benefit

In this case, QSFPTEK made adjustments to meet the customer's requirements. For example, for the customer's infrastructure services, we calculated the fiber link loss to be 80km/20dB, so we customized the pre-EDFA with a maximum output of 16dBm and a gain of 25dB, and with the 40km DCM to meet the dispersion requirements of the network. QT860 OTN can be accessed and managed through the network management card, which makes it easy to operate the network platform without the need for professional personnel and easy for subsequent maintenance and management.
