    Arista QDD-400G-XDR4 Compatible 400GBASE-XDR4 QSFP-DD PAM4 1310nm 2km DOM Optical Transceiver Module (SMF, 1310nm, 2km, MTP/MPO, DOM)

     

    QDD-400G-XDR4 400G QSFP-DD optical module, namely 4X100G-FR, or 400GBASE-DR4+, is designed to reach 2km distances over single-mode fiber (SMF). The 400 Gigabit Ethernet signal is carried over four parallel and independent Single Lambda 100G PAM4 lanes. 400GBASE-XDR4 uses MTP/MPO-12 connector, supporting breakout mode. It can be applied in the 4x100G breakout connectivity of QSFP-DD to QSFP28 100G-FR.

     

    QSFPTEK 400GBASE-DR4+ module is compliant with QSFP-DD MSA, 100G Lambda MSA 400G-DR4+, CMIS 4.0, and IEEE 802.3bs and is mainly applied in 400G Ethernet, Data Center, and Cloud Networks.

    • What is the difference between using 4x100 vs 8x50 of 400G QSFP-DD transceivers?
      The main difference is that the optical signal transmission method, 4x100G means transmitting optic signals in 4 channels, and 100G each channel, while 8x50G is transmitted optic signal in 8 channels, and 50G each channel.
    • What's the meaning of ''DR4''?
      ''DR'' means that the 500m transmission distance and using Singlemode fiber, ''4'' implies there refers to 4 optical channels. The 4 independent optical channels inside the DR4 modules transmitting data on separate fibers make up a total of 8 fibers(4 Tx and 4 Rx). Each of the optical channel transmission rates is 100Gb/s.
    • What type of optical cable should be used with 400G-SR8?
      The 400G-SR8 optical module employs a single-row, angled (APC) MTP16 connector to establish a connection with parallel multi-mode fiber, facilitating the linkage of 8 fiber pairs. We recommend utilizing the QSFPTEK MTP-16 APC OM4 Cable for optimal performance.
