The Cisco extended temperature QSFP-100G-ER4L compatible QSFP28 optical transceiver module is designed with duplex LC connectors, reaching a link up to 40km over single-mode fiber(SMF). QSFPTEK manufactured 100GBASE-ER4L QSFP28 transceiver module is compliant with IEEE 802.3bm, SFF-8636, and QSFP28 MSA standards. Besides, DDM (digital diagnostics monitoring) function is supported on the 100G fiber optic transceiver to achieve real-time operating parameters monitoring. With these features, this 100G QSFP28 transceiver is widely applied in 100G telecom connections, data centers, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distribution layers, campus networks, etc.

I've been using the 100G ER4 transceiver for our metro-distance DCI setup, and overall it performs very well. The link has stayed stable with no noticeable signal drops, even around the 40 km range. My only minor complaint is that the module runs a bit warmer than expected, but nothing problematic. For the price and performance, it's a solid choice.
